Pug+logging=Plugging!

Hey wasup? I got way hammered this weekend. Tip: Liquor impedes ability to heal. Fact: My pinky reswolled up for a few hours. How weird and scary was that?!...Not too much. I'm here to announce something pretty cool and interesting and artistic. I know, not my usual post but there will be a more normal one soon but I really like this artist so bear with me.

I took an Intro to Drawing class at the "prestigious school, SUNY Purchase" (inside joke:this is how the school was referred to in a Wikipedia entry about Zoey Kravitz who left after a year) and found it very helpful. The point is, my teacher's name was Karen Ruenitz (cool last name since there's so many ways to pronounce it wrong but back to the point) and she, I found out, is a graduate student herself which is cool. She's doing an exhibition here in

which is cooler, from:

Cool Handout.

On View from April 20th (Right now!) til April 24th.
Reception will be held April 23rd from 5-7pm.

I don't announce people's events so you best believe she's good. She did her work on easily breakable paper because she said how she would want something she worked so hard to be seen and then be gone since thats how she sees art to be. In other words,She's bad-ass.
Check her stuff out, I got some of the goods on her work, peep it if you so desire.

They're all human-sized silhouette like figures with a twist. I'm not going to reveal too much since these pics themselves are of non finished works so def go check it out. Karen's a great artist with an affection for drawing herself wearing Addidas (hoping for a sneaker deal? jk) and has a love for fashion. She's teaching now in FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology for non-Googlers) so there's your credentials right there!

I'm too scared to draw something for many hours and then know it won't last. Guess I haven't achieved that level of appreciation for the ART concept.(I keep EVERYTHING). Til next. Expect something annoyingly difficult from me in about 2 days or less.
Art Away!

Po-Ke- Mon!

Wasup viewers, all 18 of you (much less than that im sure...sigh). I was told a few weeks ago by my girlfriend (yes girls, I'm taken and yes boys, I'm straight) to do a vulpix for her. Naturally its simple enough to draw a pokemon but then, if you know women, they tend to get more demanding. This is how her demands went.
1.Draw me a Vulpix, its my favorite.
2. Put like a forest background.
3. I want lillies in it.
4. Add something else too, don't make it so plain.
....yeah, she was very considerate with her demands(accent on this word!...jk)
So yeah, here's the raw version of the vulpix:

I kept it simple, I figured a sitting down pose was serene enough. I might post the actual paper line art if you want but I'm using Photoshop from now on until I hear someone complain. Here's the line art:

I liked how it was coming out, its kinda annoying to color a vulpix though, I thought it was pink and purple mixed but it took me a few minutes to find the right blend. Colored version go!:

Alright, here's where it gets fucking tricky and time consuming. This is the background I did after the first hour:

It took me a while to get it done just because the shadows weren't looking right, the trees weren't the right color, etc etcetera(no one spells it anymore). So yeah, then I knew I had to add the flowers which are annoying to draw small and decided to do the simplest thing to make the picture come together. *Ahem* "Now tell me, WHO'S THAT POKEMON?!"

"IT'S ANOTHER VULPIX!" Bet you didn't see that one coming. I noticed that no matter what I did, both Vulpix look female. So this is a kind of secret one sided lesbian crush one has for the other. Maybe they'll get together but they'll never get married, not while those opposite sex marriage laws stay in effect. C'mon Obama, make this Vulpix dreams come true.

Now that my insane non-sensical rant is over, enjoy the post. I'd like to hear about what you guys and gals think about the background and picture altogether. You know the drill and if you don't, Myspace, Twitter and Facebook on the sidebar under my summary.Drop me a line to my email if you want too:

Mike Suazo's Back!

Like the subject said, boom baby(South Park), I'm back.
I finally did something in my drawings I've felt I've been missing. "Good art?" you say? Fuck you then...Ok, ok, maybe I'm not all that good but hey, I'm better than most of your fathers are at pleasing your mothers...metaphorically that is...yeah. It was using Photoshop more btw.
So anyways, here Diego, I finally finished your birthday present. I'm not going to drag out this paragraph any longer because it would make no sense to keep my brother waiting any longer, my brother who has waited a long time for me to complete this drawing, this drawing that took me a while (if you're still reading this, thank you for not skipping to the drawings.)

This one you've seen if you saw the crappy video I posted just the other week. It's Tails. I did something new though. Instead of cleaning up the picture, i actually did the line art using Photoshop. I'm doing that from now on. See why?
It's just cleaner. So I colored it up, through up a background! (Omg!) It was just easier to do it in Photoshop. I haven't even colored the sketch yet since I wanted this to come out as good and clear as I wanted to, since my brother's getting impatient after only 6 months of waiting (grimy bastard...jk, he's 10.) Ta dah!

Nothing special but I won't lie, i really like how it came out. I know I could've refined some points but I wanted to keep it simple as well.

This week I'm going to continue the idea of Photoshopping unless someone tells me they would want to see the colored sketch version, then I'll do that as well. But you got to tell me. Or else, how the hell will my brother ever get his drawing? (I'm joking Diego, you'll get it... as long as you send me  your allowance for the last 6 months you've been waiting like we agreed...  :D)
Oh! And here's the photoshopped Ninguin (penguin ninja).
I know some of you might like the colors while the rest of you could just "suck my balls"(*1)....
Hey, if you pass by, leave me a comment. I'd like to know at least someone reads this and get some feedback. Only if its supreme praise though...ok, you can comment normally too.
Shout out to Donna, my hip hop soulmate.
