To Tat or Not To Tat?

For years now, I've fantasized about a certain tattoo design I've wanted to get on my back. But while watching a friend get a tattoo on his forearm and going through one of the tattoo binders, I realized I do want to get a turtle tat on my forearm. It's been something I've been toying with and used another artist's design.
(Their name on DeviantArt is Vodqa)
Original:

So in order to see what it'd look like on my forearm, I traced it using PhotoShop.
:D
BadAss Wave-Riding Turtle
So far, I just made it simpler but might add something else...

For the most part, I took out some parts and added color. I love the koi fish-waterfall like design and I'm thinking of whether I'd want to add something else. Let me know what you think.

Current Obsession:
Word of Warcraft, yup WoW. I've played twice before, years in between plays and now I'm back to it. For now its just the trial but I fear this might lead to casual playing. That $15/monthly is definitely going to put a stop to it if its hectic but I've heard bout private servers...hmm.

This is what my character looks like:

So yeah, comics are coming so wait on that... like you got a choice. You are all at my comic mercy!
...Hey, where you going? Come back!...    :(

Anyways, info on the left so hit me up if you want and add me on PSN too!

  1. Wait a year. If you still want that same design in the same spot, get it. You will have a lifetime to have it so why not have something you actually want?

  2. You make a good point Mi. I guess I could plan to get it for graduation. A certain tattoo of wings is actually what I've been really wanting for about 4 years now so i thought I'd start with something small.

  3. You should most definitely get it. I have tattoo tips somewhere in my blog. If it's something sentimental to you and won't impede with your line of work then go ahead.

If you decide to place it on your forearm, that will be so tender! The one on my wrist felt like I was being cut with a blade. :)) The back is fine and the foot is excruciating.

Check it out! I included tips on where the ink will hurt more. I like the design you came up with. :)

  4. @Toni Tralala Yeah I'm definitely interested in getting it, it does seem to symbolize alot of what I'm going for. Sadly, the design isn't mine but from an artist I really like on DeviantArt (i posted their page up top). I'll check out your blog then, I wanna see these tips of yours of how I can suffer less through tattooing lol. Follow me if you'd like too.

  5. You can always modify the tattoo to make it your own. Your an artist in the first place and I've seen the wonderful work you've displayed. Please don't come to the tattoo parlor with alcohol in your system. :)) I have. ;)

  6. @Toni Tralala - Yeah thats what I was planning on. Thanks about what you said about my work, really appreciate it. I will NEVER go to a tattoo parlor drunk, I don't wanna end up with a Betty Boop on my ass. :P

  7. @Mike Okay then, that sounds great! Post it when you finally have it inked. ;) I'm going to tell my lovely Puerto Rican friend about you. She's based in NY too. She might want to check out your work. You're most welcome. If your work was ugly, I'd say so. hihi. TRUE! I just had to say so because some people go to parlors inebriated thinking that it will increase their threshold for pain.

No Betty Boop! She's cute though. One of my favorites but not as a tattoo though - not on my ass or yours. :))

  8. Turtle looks depressed. He needs a cigarette or a smile.

  9. @Toni Lol Awesome, it'd be cool to talk to your PR friend, im gonna guess she's an artist too?

Damn, then I'm glad you think my work is good, idk what I'd do if someone said my work was ugly... well, I'd probably tattoo their name on my leg like a list then cross it out after I kill them.... or just shrug it off, depends on my mood.

    :D

  10. @Chrissy- Lol maybe, but then the sea water might wet the cig and make him even more sad. He needs a mini-tattoo on himself! Hell yea!

  11. I saw your blog through Blogs of Note and just wanted to see what you drew. I really like that tattoo idea! I have always had a love for marine life and actually just recently got a tattoo of a sea turtle done myself. My first one too. On my foot. yeah. lol. I saw someone comment earlier, you have a lifetime to do it, why not now? You won't regret it!

  12. @Kayla- I just might, just need the right push and for my gf to stop nagging me about how she doesn't like it, its starting to make me question how cool this might be. Plus i gotta re-design it, that should be fun.

  13. Alas, you can't do that! You're not assassin material! :)) I'll talk to her tomorrow. I'm rather busy packing right now. I'm moving to L.A. in a few days. WOO! She's not an artist though she appreciates such work. She's well on her way on becoming a nurse. :)

  14. @Toni- Nice! A nurse huh? If she has any anime friends then they're totally going to buy her a nurse cosplay outfit, which'd be cool to draw, gotta draw that sometime. Cool, let her know, it'd be nice to talk to more people!

You're moving to LA? Cool, how come? And where do you hail from originally? I heard LA is the West coast NY :D.

  17. @Jessie- Thanks for liking my place, make yourself comfortable.

@Porcelain- Lol, nice quote but I've always had a sweet spot for being Alliance. Idk what it is, I just can't be horde...for now. :D
