(W&W #1) Swords: Why Videogames Are Awesome.

YO! Schools hectic like usual, wish I had more time to play videogames but woe is me... So yeah, here's to the start of an installment Im starting now by hitting Start on the Start Machine... START!
This is about the 3D stuff I make. Maybe I should make a better name for these posts but really, I'm just going to make weapons and maybe some models so here it is:

Weapons & Wielders
#1

It might have come to me from Dungeon & Dragons (The double D's... :D) but fuck it, ideas are stolen all the time.

Anyways, I've been making nothing but swords lately using 3D Studio Max which is a bad mama jama of a program (that term is still cool right?). So what sword do you think I tried first? The fucking buster sword from Final Fantasy VII. I just started using this program so I obviously did the easy one from the game but I definitely went through alot of different versions. Check it:

Buster Sword

Yeah...this was my first try at it.
Looks like a metal ice cream bar with gum drops.

This is trying to make the materia look clearer and giving the blade a metal sharp look.
Kind of looks like the sword is having an acid trip.

This is it looking more like a sword.
The edge looks like they're uneven, like metal stairs.

This is the finished product.
I intend to add onto it but this is a finished rough draft :D

So there's one sword out of the way. "What?! You got another sword?" Why yeah, thanks for asking person I asked to type this so it doesn't leak out that I'm crazy(my other personality would hate that...) That one I'll keep for saturday! Womp womp womp. If I make these things too long, shit, I myself won't want to re-read it.

To close shop, all my info is on the right, follow me on Twitter, I try to make some funny comments so give it a look. Deviantart name is always looking for some new watchers and add me on myspace and facebook if you want to know me.
Til next time,
I'm Mike Suazo.
Go crazy! (not literally)

Why Are We Scared of Heights?

Because the high-ate-us.
Now that's a horrible way of saying sorry for being on hiatus.
(in case you didn't get it.)

I've been dealing with school, life and some martial arts training
(yeah, I do it)
and have
been low on downtime between watching stuff to keep my sanity.

But yeah, I haven't gotten my hands on a scanner but I'm definitely going to this weekend and will post up some stuff next week of my drawings. But of course I wont leave without actually posting some stuff up. I know as soon as you look at this, you'll know I'm obsessed.

I've been working with 3D Studio Max, a 3D animating and creating software. It's pretty cool, though took some getting used to. I mean, fucking Infinity Ward (designers of Call Of Duty games) make their games using this, so it ain't your mom and dad's email accounts, you get me? So here's the first thing I made seriously...
This is the first draft I did of the Ninguin. Honestly, its a hard program to do from a 2d drawing so cut me some slack. Lol, I know it very little resembles the original version (link here) but I tried. I refined it a lil, worked on the flippers especially. Oh, I also added makeshift sais.
Yeah, Im fucking obsessed and you're prob tired of seeing this guy by now but I couldn't help but try. And then came my favorite...

Yeah, it was basically it at this point, feathers are hard to animate, even worse to try and make move. I like this stuff so I'm trying to get better at it.
Wings are fucking hard to do, especially ones supposed to be holding a sword. And eyes are hard too but I like the sinister-osity (I create words out of nothing, I'm word God) of his eyes.
What I most like is his feathers on his head or "hair" that I tried to make look as best I could as Cloud's hair from Final Fantasy VII.

I'm working on the buster sword now, since I love that sword. I'll keep you guys posted. This was just something to wet your appetite while I get a nice two part blog going. I swear it'll be interesting. Oh! You wont be seeing these guys on the blog again, im tired of showing them and you must hate seeing them by now. IF I do an animation with them, then maybe...

Anyways, all my info's on the side, follow me,add me, comment if you'd like. I always appreciate some constructive criticism.
Time to get serious about al the projects I have in store for this and for life...which will prob make their appearance here anyway. Til next,
P3@C3

Floridian Update Explosion! Part II

"Hey...wait, don't go. I know I've been unfaithful to you, not paying you enough attention. Blog, Im sorry. I'll try to be there for you as much as I can."
-Mike Suazo
Ok, now that we got that out of the way, we can continue on with our lives. Just please remind me of that quote. I've been drawing alot lately but its safe to say I've been slacking on my art commissions. I have my latest one to finish but c'mon, it was a six part-er so its going to take me a while. Two to go and they will be in next week's update, I fucking promise.

Lets jump right into it, I'm staying at my cousin's house and she has two cats, animals I've never liked to play with. Something about their asshole-ish nature is really unsettling. But only one out of her two cats is a huge asshole, worse than Garfield, I have the scar to prove it. But, this is the cute one thats nice, like a lil whore cat.

Just her lying on a sofa cushion.

Continuing from last month's post, I have two more character commissions I did for, yet again, Peter Sciacca, for his novel Psychopomp! (more info here)

Izzy, a fun loving character who's into manga so I thought this look would fit her.

Luca, a hipster who's way into video games. I really like how this came out.

Watch them in their full view by clicking them. Maybe save them for a background idea? Eh? EHH?! Jk. I had alot of fun doing these two, especially Izzy since I had never done a pose like that before. Plus her expression was real fun to do.
Well thats all the cool stuff for this week. I'm going to update in a week or less and I WILL update in a week. I'm going to add some stuff to my DeviantArt account so go check it out there and let me know what you think. That's where I'll have most of my stuff that I would want other people to see or comment or curse me out about so if you're curious, check it out. Leave a comment, c'mon, its been a while, I'd love to see what you think.
Peace

Everything Comes to An End...

Psyche. Thought I Would give up? Really? Wow...is the game I've been playing for 3 days and have become addicted to it all over again. I'm a Lv18 Hunter and have a panther named Socrates after some asshole I know(one of my best friends :D) I've played it before but its so much better when...wait, this isn't what I came to talk about. Stop distracting me reader!

First time I wear that tie
Last time I put my elbows on a babyshower table.

So some bad and good news. First off, I'm in Florida (Not inside the rapper Flo-Rida although I see the similarities) and can't scan in my stuff to photoshop and don't have photoshop to photoshop my photoshop-ables.(Geek tongue-twister.) Don't even have regular access to internet so you can guess I'm REALLY in the boondocks, a lil town called Kissimmee(its not a city according to me).
That's the bad news.

Good news is I've started drawing alot more with all this down-time and will hopefully do a few good enough items to post on here but as of now, I'm going on about a month and half hiatus. I know I'm not good enough to be taking these breaks and dammit if you know I don't want to but for now, whenever I get internet access, I'll post up pictures of whatever kind of cool thing I draw, this is Kigen I Draw Stuff after all...I think. Check your URL in case I have a copy-cat (which would be kind of cool and annoying at the same time).

Good or Bad news(You decide)- I'm going to go back to my roots (what's he talking about? He's Dominican, is he going to start carrying a spear?) No, not quite, if I meant that, I'd still get a sword anyway, cuz they're fucking Awesome...Moving on, I mean taking pictures of my work instead of showing the different parts. I don't know If you'll like it better but here's some whiteboard fun I had at my LOUD mother's house(seriously she won't stop screaming: "Help, help!" Jeez woman, I'll beat the fire off you as soon as I'm done with the blog! Now hush!) White board FUN!

"It's a me, Mustachio"
That's not right...

Info to find out about me (though most of you probably know me) is on the right and check out some of the videos I've been making on my Youtube account(which is a new clickable tab on the side). I'm going to leave it at that.
E-mail me sometime, I get bored:

GunDAMN Its Been a While...:D

Took me all of 2 minutes to come up with that title. Little foreshadowing and a little sexual tension...you like? I like.

Anyways, very sorry for that brief intermission. Shit, you'd think with breaks like that I'd be a big celebrity who could afford to take them. Nope, just a college student and right now, things are hectic. Finals are here, did one today and I was pretty content with it but what do you care, you're here for the drawing of the stuff that my blog dictates me to do (he's holding me hostage!...call someone...)

Back on track with the art commissions. This week, or better yet, for the past few weeks, I've been steadily working on my best friend's request. Now, if it wasn't for that title he has(OMG! BFF), I would've shut his request down without a second thought. Well, there would've been a second thought but it would've been more about violence against the requester. He asked for (like you couldn't guess) a Gundam...a fucking Gundam.(I might have to start watching my language, my grandmother hates seeing me write curses on this thing...she has to stop reding them then :D)

Those things are annoyingly tedious and I have always hated the idea of drawing something too complicated but I gave it a shot and honestly, I don't ever see myself doing one again unless they make Gundams cyborgs and that just sounds dumb so yeah, never again...unless for money. I even decided on doing Gundam Wing only because I remember picking only that character in the SNES (Super Nintendo) Gundam games and yeah, he's even harder.
I started out with a simple (yeah right) out line. Not bad took me all of 5 hours to finish it but yeah, simple...

Then I worked on school, tried not to fail anything, videos here and there and then finally did the outline in Photoshop and that took annoyingly long as well. So many lines I swear I was happy when I finished half, just so I could sleep. See?

Then after that gruesome part wa done, I felt ALOT better. Coloring was a process but it was easy enough to do. There's alot of parts to making the colors seem right and I wanted it to look a little better and to further my understanding of Photoshop so I started using the gradient tool. Nifty little thing and helped out.

I know, I know, the sword looks weird but I wanted it a little tipped and uh, yeah. I might re-touch it a little but I seriously don't want to look at this file for a while. Since it had been a while, I did a quick background that I think seems appropriate so stop teasing me... :(

There you have it. Wow, it feels great to have something new up. I had been coming back to the blog every now and then and expected to see an update from myself. A crazy idea but if it happened, then who was crazy to begin with? NOT ME!...he he.

BIG UPDATE: I started, get this: A PODCAST with my good friend Peter Sciacca called Tangent Combo. We did it a couple weeks back and only have one so far but I want to hear your thoughts. You can subscribe to it using a small button in the page so you can listen to it on "the go"(I just think its cliche to say that and wouldn't be surprised it was copyrighted byt Go-Gurt or something)
Here's the link: Tangent Combo

If you want to talk to me or e-mail me about something, I posted my e-mail on my profile and all my social networking stuff is on the sidebar...(this is a sidebar mom)--->
Follow me on Twitter if you'd like too. I may not update every hour but when I do, you best believe its going to be...kinda ok, good at best. Jk. I try to be funny, you decide if I am.
Peace
:D

Mike Suazo's Back!

Like the subject said, boom baby(South Park), I'm back.
I finally did something in my drawings I've felt I've been missing. "Good art?" you say? Fuck you then...Ok, ok, maybe I'm not all that good but hey, I'm better than most of your fathers are at pleasing your mothers...metaphorically that is...yeah. It was using Photoshop more btw.
So anyways, here Diego, I finally finished your birthday present. I'm not going to drag out this paragraph any longer because it would make no sense to keep my brother waiting any longer, my brother who has waited a long time for me to complete this drawing, this drawing that took me a while (if you're still reading this, thank you for not skipping to the drawings.)

This one you've seen if you saw the crappy video I posted just the other week. It's Tails. I did something new though. Instead of cleaning up the picture, i actually did the line art using Photoshop. I'm doing that from now on. See why?
It's just cleaner. So I colored it up, through up a background! (Omg!) It was just easier to do it in Photoshop. I haven't even colored the sketch yet since I wanted this to come out as good and clear as I wanted to, since my brother's getting impatient after only 6 months of waiting (grimy bastard...jk, he's 10.) Ta dah!

Nothing special but I won't lie, i really like how it came out. I know I could've refined some points but I wanted to keep it simple as well.

This week I'm going to continue the idea of Photoshopping unless someone tells me they would want to see the colored sketch version, then I'll do that as well. But you got to tell me. Or else, how the hell will my brother ever get his drawing? (I'm joking Diego, you'll get it... as long as you send me  your allowance for the last 6 months you've been waiting like we agreed...  :D)
Oh! And here's the photoshopped Ninguin (penguin ninja).
I know some of you might like the colors while the rest of you could just "suck my balls"(*1)....
Hey, if you pass by, leave me a comment. I'd like to know at least someone reads this and get some feedback. Only if its supreme praise though...ok, you can comment normally too.
Shout out to Donna, my hip hop soulmate.

Been Busy...Hey Look! A Shot Glass!...With a candle!

Cheers! I hate that show.
Beyond! Ok, that's just to show my support of the IGN Podcast known as Beyond! They are hilarious, give it a check sometime, pretty easy to find them on Itunes, plus, download for free. "HE LYING?!" "NO HE AINT! HMPH!"...Who were those girls? You know them?
Anyways, I turned 21 over the hiatus. It was a very good time, I don't understand how people say they can't remember their 21st birthdays, I remember it perfectly. I remember I tripped alot...on nothing, weird how that that happens. I haven't updated in a while is because of college. I'd like to say it was because I was playing videogames but whoever reads my Twitter knows that isn't true...entirely. I was working on a portfolio website so I can continue to being a big boy ( we have shirts) in New Media (my major) dear lord (my savior...psyche).
So I was forced...*really wanted to* photoshop the pictures I've drawn before, all except for Surfing Echidna, I might do him but I know I'll have to take my time with him, nurture him, caress him...mmhm, handcuffs. OH! Whoops...heh. So yeah, I promised I would post them up when I did but for fun and giggles, I'll post one up today and the other further along the week.

For better or worse, I made his eyes more normal to give him a more friendly "Im going to FUCKING murder you." kind of look. Isn't he adorable? More soon to come.
If you want to see my website, send me an electronic mail message, I just heard about it, crazy things their doing with computers. Check my profile, my e-mails bound to be somewhere there, and read the stuff on there, you never know what we might have in common, like, I like long walks on the concrete pavement and talking all class long but I'm a romantic like that.
Oh, and yeah, I finished the main outline for my brother's birthday, I'm right on time, if this was 6 months ago...I appreciate him. Check it as well:

I will photoshop this like crazy for my brother. I did a quick run through but i have to clean the image alot. I might start drawing from scratch on Photoshop and cut out the middle man (middle man being my roomate who scans them for me. Props to Peter). Homework time. Let me know what you think, ight?

First Post!! Woot! Wait... this is MY blog.

Hey,name's Mike and welcome to my blog I so aptly named "I Draw Stuff". I'm going to be talking about, you guessed it, nuclear physics...or drawing stuff. I'm a SUNY Purchase student, New Media major (meaning anything artistic with computers) and I like to draw things in my spare time that I can't use for my portfolio so yeah, I like to waste time.

This is something I recently drew for my door. Why draw something for the door? Because the girls in front of my dorm room drew something and started an ART WAR!...They don't know about it yet but that just means me and my roomate are winning. My roomate decided to draw two Nintendo characters, a Boo and a red mushroom. I decided to go for a Final Fantasy character: A chocobo wielding a buster sword (FFAC version) and threw in a little Naruto inspired eyes...
Here's my inked drawing.

I used a .25mm line width black Micron since its the only pen I have skinnier than a sharpie.
Here's a little of the colored drawing.

I used sharpies for most of it but added some coloring pencils for the borders as to not screw the inking up.

Here's the finished product.

Used color pencils for shading and light spots. Added a little scarf for, i don't know, cool scarf action? Anyways, that's it for today. Check every now and then to see what I'm drawing up here at SUNY Purchase.
