Farewell Old Flame, Hello New Lover

Ok, guys, I think it looks like I might be not updating this as much (cuz I wasn't from the beginning) which is because I'm now devoting all my time to a website me and three of my friends (Peter Sciacca, Socrates and Lewis Garcia) are launching that features not only comics which I'll draw along with two others, but also articles, and a badass podcast which is already up on iTunes!

Its called........ waaaaaaiiiitttt forrrrrrr ittttttt:

From here on, I'm going to devote my comics, thoughts and time there. It was a nice experience doing this blog for as long as I did and I'd like to thank everyone who helped out, commented, secretly read but never posted a comment and the spammers (God, there were many). This blog was a cool and satisfying stepping stone but everything must end and its time for this one to end. I started out as KiGen, some guy who put way too much thought into making up that handle and now I end as I should've began, as Mike Suazo, guy who draws stuff.

Feels great to post a comic, especially this double whammy!
Took me a while to post something new just cause everything in college is getting to down to the wire, only a month and a half left til graduation. I'm liking how this came out but if it sucks, feel free to tell me so and I'll cry about it later (jk, I'll work it out in boxing).

It feels nice to get a comic out but I'm really missing the whole delicacy of pencil and paper.

If only the great people at Wacom would give me a free Cintiq, I would advertise them TONS more then I already do.

Yup, this is what I think about when playing any of the few last handheld Pokemon games.

I mean, damn, the Nintendo 64 Pokemon Stadium had idle animations but yeah, been wanting to make this comic for a while now.

I'm really loving Manga Studio which is what I have been using for a few comics now. This one I needed to combine with Photoshop for a few reasons but still, drawing is much easier in MS.

Although a Cintiq would help like CRAZY. It'd be awesome to own one.

Anyways, I'm gonna start concentrating more on SavePoints cuz that's my senior project.

Yup, I'm a senior(2nd time around) in College & this is my final project.

So stay tuned and help me make it a successful project!

New Year = New Resolutions

Happy Belated New Year as my ghetto friends would say.

(they wouldn't though, they're too busy being ghetto)

How's everything going for everyone? I had a pretty chill celebration over here, just relaxed with the family. I don't know if you're spanish or have spanish friends or have been spanish in a past life but man, there's tons of "Bringing in the New Year" traditions or "witchcraft" that we do in order to get certain things in the new year. 

They include: 

• Rubbing money while the countdown starts to get more money in the new year.
• Eating one grape for one wish per minute for 12 minutes after 12AM.
• Dumping lentils in your pockets to get money( I don't get this one either...)

Its like we're trying to be some type of witch/wizarding family...

Why is it tricky being a kid?
Cuz you work for Satan!
Especially that little one...

You guys can look forward to a lot more updates & I'll try to be as damn entertaining as I can be. I'll probably try cursing less too but then again, $#!+, its just so damn fun to throw out a random cuss word here and there. But still, I'll try to contain myself. Hopefully you guys keep on coming through, I really do love reading your comments.

I had alot of fun with this info graphic design. Mostly, it was to showcase different information I found out about my Twitter from one week of observation. Funny enough, we were only asked to display one type of info graphic but I ended up asking the professor about all these different designs I had planned and sketched out.

I wanted him to give me advice on which ONE design to choose and work on but him being cool said,

"I want you to go ahead and do all of them."

I liked experimenting with this comic, I really tried out alot of different angles I hadn't previously done as well as some expressions bordering on anime in origin which is awesome :D. Its really been a big task just to get one of these pages done considering I'm learning more and more techniques and yet none of them seem to be shaving down any comic-creating time. Design

I've been loving this new class I've been taking called Information Aesthetics. It's a really interesting design class based on the premise that data (anything from bus schedules to number of tweets(which I did)) can be displayed in an artistic, informational and aesthetically pleasing way. It's recreating something as old and trustful as a bar graph into something new and exciting yet still informational. This is really helping spruce up my portfolio and different skills although I really got to stop using Photoshop for everything and concentrate a little more on Illustrator. 
Just so I'm more of a Jack of all Trades/Programs.

I've been reading this awesome manga for about 4 days now and I'm already nearly 100 chapters in.
This is honestly one of the best blends of action & comedy I've seen in a long time.
I especially love how the fighting in this is actually possible and not fictional.
Based on true martial arts, it really shows a hard-working character.

He's adapting this dense but interesting book into an actual story-line that encompasses about 70% about the original lines and take it from me, it's pretty cool.

The art is awesome, I saw a draft of the book.

Poster Designs Are Tiring

This has been a hell of a week for me. 

Honestly had so much work that I was going to sleep late and doing nothing but work this past week. 

Ridiculous!

So yeah, what took me so long was this promotional poster that I made to showcase all the new stuff in a really anticipated game,

Its my first time attending this type of convention and today was the first day. Gotta say, my feet are killing me and I should really go to sleep, long day ahead of me tomorrow.

This comic was honestly super long to do. I didn't wanna do some crappy short "here's what happened, bye" type style so it really took me a while to figure out how I wanted this done. I'm pretty happy with it. I know some people are going to be annoyed that I didn't draw their favorite superheroes but these are like, MY top 3. Given that I'M the one drawing them, these are the small perks I get. :D

It's my first time doing a flashback sequence so let me know if I did it well. College is kicking my ass since now I got a job at a school office (pretty cool) so maybe I won't be broke this Christmas, though I know I'll be broke after it. DX

Been so long since I actually posted a comic. I'm feeling pretty good about this one, mostly cuz it ties into a previous comic. Fun little comic points that can come across in plots. I'm super tired but it was a cool learning experience. Now I'm really looking forward to continuing this series. With this it marks 10 comics I've done and I hope this leads to 100 more.

Eight Bits of Nostalgia III

Getting school schedules to work out is a tiring process. Its bullshit how being a senior can get you into any class. Sigh, I guess next semester means I'm a super senior, the super-hero detested for having way too many credits. I actually have good grades, it was just cuz I chose my major late.

Remember kids not in college, when they say that you have time after getting into college to choose your major, its bullshit. Figure it out in high school or you're going to end up stuck in school for MORE time. I have this. You don't want this.

Its like a pie chart is about to eat a jagged gumdrop.

Pac-Man was such a bitch to make, since he's a round character and making him round while keeping the 8-bit(cube) effect was not easy but ah well, I'm happy with the result. As well as with the models come the backgrounds I made so if you're into anything you've seen, check these out.

Finally ,its done. Now I can get back to doing some normal stuff. For a blog named I draw stuff, I haven't been posting any drawing at all lately. I'll rectify that with my next post which will be the last art request for one of my friends, then I can start doing some art requests for people online again.
